A Request from the Chapter Committee - Do you have a coin jar?

That is a jar/bottle or some other vessel that you throw your copper coins into.

The Committee is asking that periodically you bring them in to donate to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Thanks.

DWT Anual Seminar May 7-8th 2016

This year Jason Breach visited from the UK to give us a demonstration of his broad range of skills. An Axminster trainer, Jason made for us two of his signature boxes, a ball-clock, and he showed us how he made the mixed-wood balls that are part of his signature checkers-boards.

His demo gave us good insight to the range of skills required of a professional woodturner, and his stories from around the world were very entertaining.

Not only did Jason demo on the Saturday, but he held a masterclass on the Sunday where attendees were guided through the process of making a box “a la Jason”.

Open

The Annual Family Day in Blessington.

The annual Family Day, hosted in Blessington by the Doran family took place on 18th June. Peter Mulvaney and Rich Varney provided demos and Stephen Coffey was the MasterChef. Pictures of the day can be seen here.

  Bob Finley - 4 bishops,

  Paul Murtagh - 4 knights,

  Eamonn Boland - 4 castles,

Martin Boylan - 4 Kings and Queens.
