Monthly
Meetings
Main Monthly Meeting
The Dublin Chapter holds its main
monthly meeting on the first Saturday of each month beginning
at 10:00AM and finishing about 1:00PM. The meeting usually
consists of :
- demonstration of
woodturning
- monthly woodturning
competition
- a cup of tea/coffee
- opportunity to borrow
books/videos/DVDs from the Book and video club
- the chance to meet old friends
and other woodturners
There is a fee of €5 collected to
cover the cost of the venue, tea/coffee etc.
It is a requirement under our
insurance policy that only paid-up members may attend meetings.
However, you may become an Associate member for the day if you
are introducted by a member. This allows you to attend one
meeting so that you can assess if you would like to
join.
Venue for the main Monthly
Meeting
NORMALLY the main monthly
meeting is held in Terenure College.
However,
as the College is hosting a number of events to celebrate its
100th anniversary all our meetings for 2010 will be held in the
Willington Scout Hall, near
Templeogue.
From January 2010, until further notice,
all Dublin Chapter monthly meetings will be held at the
Willington Scout Hall, Templeogue Wood.
This is a temporary arrangement as the
Terenure College venue is unavailable during this time. To get
to the Scout hall you should turn off the N81 at the Spawell
Golf Centre (Wellington Lane). Pass the golf centre until you
reach the roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout (Orwell
Road) and go straight past the shopping centre (on your
right).
The Scout Hall is on your right at the
next roundabout.
Please park responsibly and do not
block local traffic or entrances. Parking in the hall grounds
is limited and is reserved for delivering/collecting equipment
etc.

the Scout Hall are: GPS Ref:

Thursday Afternoon Meeting
On the Thursday following the main Saturday monthly meeting the
chapter holds a more informal meeting in the Willington Scout
Hall. This meeting begins at 2:00PM and ends around 5:00PM.
This is a great chance to see a woodturning demonstration.
Catch up with some of the woodturning gossip, bring along one
of your turnings and get some advice (if required!!!) etc etc .
A cup of tea/coffee is available and a contribution of just
€2.00 covers the lot.
See map above
for directions.
